After reading the artist's LiveJournal, I am even more impressed with the chasing and repoussé work that she accomplished on this crown. Modeled after a 10th-century diadem from Pakistan, hinged, and with four 10mm lapis lazuli cabochons and countless freshwater pearls, the total weight is remarkably light, only 5.5oz (.155kg)!
